Welcome to Guilford County Cooperative Extension School Garden Network team blog! We hope this can be a space for everyone involved in school gardening in Guilford County to share their experiences. Lets let each other know about what works, and troubleshoot what doesn't!
The Horticultural expert ladies (Alex Wofford and Odille Huchette) at the Reid Greenhouse at NCA@T ready their outdoor beds and community pots for very cold temperatures predicted for Saturday and Sunday night.
They use a row cover cloth which is semipermeable spunbonded polypropylene so that light and air can get through during the day while enough heat is trapped to keep the plants from suffering damage at night. They purchased this row cover material from Jonny Seeds but it is available from many other sources.
